QASHQ'ULI Gabbeh KAMSEH TRIBE Flatwoven KELIM

Following long-established customs, designs are handed down within tribal, town, city and family traditions through the centuries. Most rugs have identifiable characteristics which can be “read” from their designs, colourways and symbols. Others may be more individual designs and colours of limited availability and more difficult to attribute to a specific area. “Borrowing” designs from other areas and traditions is also common, often causing confusion of accurate attribution.
