Carpets
up to about 12’ (365 cm) long are readily
available in a wide range of styles. Larger carpets
become less available but can be found to about
18-20 ft (550-600 cm) and larger, in Persian,
Pakistan and Indian productions, and some smaller
sizes from Afghanistan. It is recommended when
considering larger carpets that the carpet should
be selected as early as possible. Unlike the extensive
catalogues of paints, wall coverings and fabrics,
handwoven carpets are individual creations in
limited numbers, thus their timeless appeal. |
